If you carry commercial/private insurance your lactation visit should be covered according to the affordable care act that went into law March 23, 2010.

Each insurance carrier is different!

Please read carefully!

  1. If you have Aetna or UHC we will bill the carrier directly.  You do not have to do anything except upload your cards into the chart when you create one.  This information on how to create a chart is provided when you book your appointment.  It is located in the confirmation email.  It is not necessary to verify before booking but some clients still worry, so If you would like to verify your insurance before booking, please email us a picture of your cards.  We will get back to you promptly.

  2. If you have Florida Blue, Blue Cross Blue Shield or Cigna and you want to verify insurance before booking an appointment,  please use this link to verify insurance!  https://go.lactationnetwork.com/LactationLoop

  3. You will receive a prompt email within hours if it's during the week, or within 24-48 hours if the weekend or a holiday.  This link connects you directly to our practice, which makes it easier on our end to submit.  If you are accepted, many clients are offered at least 6 lactation visits, sometimes more.  Information will be emailed to you.  You still need to follow the steps in your confirmation email and create a chart.

  4. Government insurances. We do not accept.  These insurances, because they are offered by the government, want you to use their government agencies.  At these locations- health departments and WIC offices, they have employed lactation specialists; peer counselors, CLC's and or IBCLC's to serve you.  We are always happy to offer a sliding scale for those mothers who prefer to go the self pay route and use their lactation provider of choice!  We also have IBCLC students that are very qualified, and can see you for a low cost of $25 or free if needed.  Please email us if this applies to you and we can get you scheduled right away.  Or simply book yourself and there will be an area where you are asked about insurance.  You can describe your situation here.

  5. Our goal is to provide ALL MOTHERS with access to lactation care!  Please email us if you need help.  No matter your insurance we will find a way to help you.

  6. Self Pay- Yes we accept many forms of payment; credit cards, zelle, cash, check, venmo, health spending accounts.   An Invoice is mailed to you after your visit.  If you do not carry insurance or your insurance is not accepted above, common with HMO's.  We will provide you with a superbill after you pay for the visit.  This superbill will be submitted by you to your carrier.  They should provide reimbursement according to the affordable care act laws.  The amount varies based on individual contracts. We will do our best to help you navigate this.  If you call your carrier and they state "Lactation is covered at 100%"  but we have denied you after you have attempted to verify, it simply means we are not in network with your provider.  They have chosen to not accept Lactation Consultants up front and require the superbill we mentioned above.  Again any questions, please email us!
