Virtual Lactation Consultant | Online IBCLC Visits — All 50 States
Board-certified lactation support from your couch, your bed, or wherever you need it — available to families across the entire United States.
What Is a Virtual Lactation Consultation?
A virtual lactation consultation is a secure video appointment with one of Lactation Loop's 18 board-certified IBCLCs — the highest credential available in lactation care. You get the same expert support as an in-person visit, without leaving your home.
No matter where you live in the United States, we can see you. Our IBCLCs are available in English, Spanish, and Russian — and most families pay $0 out of pocket through insurance.
Virtual Visits — $100 | Most insurance accepted
Available Monday–Sunday, 9am–8pm. Same-week appointments often available.
✔ Latch assessment via live observed feeding ✔ Milk supply evaluation and plan ✔ Pumping guidance and flange sizing ✔ Nipple pain troubleshooting ✔ Tongue tie and lip tie discussion ✔ Returning to work planning ✔ Prenatal breastfeeding preparation (28 weeks+) ✔ Weaning support ✔ Written care plan included
Appointments run 45–60 minutes.
Is Virtual Really as Effective as In-Person?
Yes — and for many concerns, it's just as good or better. Your IBCLC can observe a live feeding in real time, see your actual nursing setup (your chair, your pillow, your pump), and give you advice that fits your real life — not a generic clinic setting. The only thing a virtual visit cannot do is a physical weighted feeding. For weight checks, we recommend an in-home visit.
Is It Covered by Insurance?
Most commercial insurance plans are required to cover lactation services under the Affordable Care Act — including virtual visits. Because our insurance contracts are national, your coverage travels with you regardless of which state you're in. Lactation Loop accepts Aetna, Cigna PPO, UnitedHealthcare (UHC), UMR PPO, Meritain, Anthem, Wildflower, Lactation Network, and Curative. Many families pay $0 out of pocket. Contact us before your first appointment and we'll help verify your benefits.
Who We Serve
We serve families in all 50 states. Lactation Loop is a national lactation practice. Whether you're in California, Colorado, Georgia, Ohio, or anywhere in between — if you have commercial insurance or can self-pay, we can see you. We have a physical in-home and in-office presence in Michigan, Florida, Texas, New York, North Carolina, and Indiana. But our virtual care reaches every corner of the country. Our IBCLCs offer consultations in English, Spanish, and Russian.
