About Lactation Loop — Born in Lakewood Ranch

Jennifer Chivas, RN BSN IBCLC, began her nursing career in 1998 after graduating from the University of Detroit Mercy. She spent 15 years as a labor and delivery nurse in Metro Detroit before earning her IBCLC certification and joining an outpatient breastfeeding medicine clinic in 2012 — where she built the clinical foundation that would shape everything that followed.

In 2016, Jennifer purchased a home in Lakewood Ranch. She moved full time in 2017 and launched Lactation Loop in 2018 as a private breastfeeding support practice. She also worked part-time at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, supporting complex breastfeeding and NICU cases in the region.

What started as a solo practice has grown into a six-state collective — built entirely through mentorship. Jennifer personally guides lactation professionals through the IBCLC certification pathway, and many of the IBCLCs on the Lactation Loop team earned their credential through the Lactation Loop mentorship program.

Today, Lactation Loop serves families virtually, in-home, and in-office using evidence-based care to help mothers meet their breastfeeding goals — wherever they are.

After Every Visit: Your Care Plan & Medical Records

At Lactation Loop, your support doesn't stop when the appointment ends. After every consultation, your IBCLC completes detailed medical chart notes documenting your newborn education, breastfeeding education, feeding observations, and your personalized care plan. You receive full access to your records through our secure patient portal — easy to share with your pediatrician, OB, or any other provider on your care team.
